ShapeCasters are the alphabet.

ShapeCasters are a new component-based system for kilncasting glass art. Simple, reusable shapes are infinitely reconfigurable, allowing quick and easy creation of complex edges, voids and shapes. ShapeCast pieces can be combined to create more complex assemblies, slumped into 3-dimensional forms, and combined using cold attachment methods.

ShapeCasters remove many of the traditional restraints to kilnwork:

• Complex edges are easily achieved, without lots of cutting and forming.
• Use depth as a design element rather than an artifact of the process
• Easily cast voids of any shape & size in place, making pierced work approachable; even cast other shapes inside the voids, for later use as separate elements!
• Increase your productivity by using all of your kiln space in each firing; extra shapes can be ShapeCast in unused space, then used later in other assemblies.
• Scrap glass, cullet, even compatible recycled glasses can easily be ShapeCast into finished pieces or elements for later use.
